Killing a Windows Service

Usually windows services are created for some background processing. Sometimes it might becomes a pain when we want to stop them. Because the application might hanged at somewhere and stopping the services from services MMC will not work as expected leaving an error saying. Failed to stop the service as the application is not shutdown in an untimely fashion.

Here the quick trick to force close that service via command line

C:\>sc queryex

C:\>taskkill /PID /F

Hope this helps
